This place is known throughout the world as a stomping ground for major Hollywood stars. The food is classic bistro style with a provencal influence. Celebrity chatter over leisurely lunches and decadent dinners only adds to this see-and-be-seen food stop. Bistro favorites include grilled flank steak in a bordelaise sauce, served with seasonal vegetables and frites; corn crusted sea bass; and a crispy roasted half chicken. Order from the baked-on- the-premises dessert menu. I'm almost certain you'll go for the lemon tart.
A freestanding French Country auberge in the heart of Toronto - Bistro 990 at Bay and Wellesley. From the lovely and intimate dining area, to the inviting summer terrace, Bistro 990 has it all. Ambiance abounds here - fresh flowers, tiled floors, French doors, vaulted ceilings and attentive unobtrusive service in the European tradition. Even the celebrated little Citroen “Deux Chevaux” near the entrance adds a little touch of magic to an evening at Bistro 990.
