Pizza Hut was first thought of in 1958 when two college students were approched by a friend with an idea of opening a pizza parlor. The results of their business idea turned out to be the foundation for what would become the largest and most successful pizza restaurant in the world. It has locations all over the world including over 7,200 restaurants alone in the United States. There are another 3,000 restaurants located in more than 86 countries.

Pizza Hut, a division of YUM! Brands Inc. and the two other sud-divisions, Taco Bell and KFC have combined together to create the world's largest restaurant group. Not only is Pizza Hut known worldwide for its amazing pizzas but also known around the communities. Pizza Hut offers programs that are willing to help children. One of the programs is called Book It! This is a reading incentive program designed to help teachers encourage students to read. This program runs from October through to March and is available for grades Jr. Kindergarten to Grade 6.

The other program that helps support communities is Rasie Some Dough. These are booklets containing 28 coupons accepted at any Pizza Hut location across Canada and is used for fundraising for school groups, athletic teams, churches or youth organizations. Up to 70% of all profits end up going back to the group.
