Coming from a family of 5th generation retailers, and with her very first job working at Royal Doulton of Canada as the developer of a Marketing and PR department, it is no wonder Cynthia Findlay ended up in the antique business.
When it was established in 1978, Cynthia Findlay Antiques - Estate & Vintage Jewellery was originally a small picnic table display at the original Harbourfront Antique Market location at 222 Queens Quay in Toronto. When the market moved to 390 Queens Quay, Cynthia Findlay Antiques - Estate & Vintage Jewellery moved with it, and 15 years later when the market closed, a group of dealers, including Cynthia Findlay, joined Toronto Antiques on King at 276 King Street West.
After Toronto Antiques on King’s second year, Cynthia Findlay took ownership of the market, and managed the multi-dealer complex until it made its move in the spring of 2009. Today, the Cynthia Findlay collection is situated at 284 King Street West, in the Mirvish Enterprises building between The Princess of Wales and Royal Alexandra theatres.
With a 6000 square foot retail space in the heart of Toronto’s fabulous Entertainment District, a constantly expanding online store, a strong presence at antique and jewellery shows all over North America, services that range from personal shopping to prop rentals for magazines and film to sourcing important items for National museums, Cynthia is a trusted leader in the antique, jewellery, and decorative arts community worldwide.
