Even if you don’t typically seek out castles during your
vacation, you'll appreciate the atmosphere and grandeur of Casa
Loma when you take a walk along the winding paths through the
5 acres of beautiful gardens surrounding the mansion. Like many
big cities that have an old mansion or castles in an unassuming
neighborhood, Toronto is no exception.
Tucked away in the corner of residential downtown is the very
unique Casa Loma, dripping with old world charm and an intriguing
story or two. Step back in time in this romantic historic mansion,
where a self-guided tour allows you to view any of the 98 elegantly
decorated rooms and 2 stately towers and explore secret passageways.
Casa Loma has an 800-foot underground tunnel going to its horse
stables. Casa Loma is open daily all year around; it is owned
by The City of Toronto and has been operated by The Kiwanis Club
of Casa Loma, a charitable organization, since 1937.
