Founded in 1943, the Hockey Hall of Fame was established as a memorial to those who developed Canada's greatest winter sport and to honour and preserve the history of the game. At the Hockey Hall of Fame, the world's finest collection of hockey artifacts creates a truly unique atmosphere for people of all ages. Unlike most museums, the Hockey Hall of Fame is open 362 days a year, taking time off for New Year's Day, Induction Day and Christmas Day. The HHOF also plays a large role in supporting charitable organizations such as the Canadaian Special Olympics, Kids Help Phone, United Way and many more. So if you are in the Toronto area come by and enjoy the benefits and thrills from all that is offered from the play-by-play commentary to stoping your favorite player's slap shot. And remember, not only are their games for the kids but many opportunities to learn more about Canada's favorite winter sport.
This shrine to Canada’s favorite sport includes an exhibit of the original 1893 Stanley Cup! You’ll get to see goalie masks and hockey jerseys worn by some of the most talented hockey players in history, and see videos of historic games. The museum is housed in the former Bank of Montreal building, erected in 1885.
The Hockey Hall of Fame is located in the heart of downtown Toronto at the corner of Younge & Front Sts. in BCE Place. The Hockey Hall of fame is short walk from many other Toronto attractions including Air Canada Centre, CN Tower, Rogers Centre and Eaton Centre.
